Real Wedding Alert

Loren & Bradley
Date: 16.09.2017
Venue: Peppers Manor House
Photographer: Morris Images

I first met Bradley nearly 10 years ago in Canada, at Silver Star Mountain Resort. Located in beautiful British Columbia, in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, Silver Star is one of the most versatile ski resorts. With runs ranging from green to double black diamond, an ice skating rink, horse drawn sleigh rides, and a bowling alley, it truely has something for everyone, and it is the mountain that still owns my heart to this day. Bradley was there for a ski season and I was there for life (or so I thought).

Turns out life and love had different plans for me, and I ended up moving to Wollongong, Australia, only about an hour away from where Bradley and his beautiful fiancé Loren lived in Sydney.

Bradley and Loren were having a small intimate wedding in the Southern Highlands, and both being very creative, were doing/making most of their wedding themselves.

Now I’m all for DIY projects, but I can definitely say from being in the wedding industry for years now, and trying to DIY most of my own wedding, that as the big day approaches it’s imperative that you delegate certain tasks.

With their special day being only a month away, I got a message from Brad asking for a quote for flowers for their wedding. They had realised that with so much to do, there simply wasn’t enough time to do it all alone. Buying fresh flowers from markets, transporting and storing them safely is not an easy task, making a mistake here could be very stressful, if not disastrous! With hair, make up, photos and everything else that is required of a couple on the morning of their wedding, the last thing they need is another time consuming task on the list. Well as it turned out, I still had availability on their date, so we wasted no time in setting up a consultation to discuss the overall vision for the day, as well as all the little details such as favourite flowers and colours. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Brad and Loren, and made me so happy to see them calm and relaxed on their wedding day (Side note, it is not advised to leave booking any vendor for your wedding to the last minute, as it doesn’t always work out this way!)

Below are some of my absolute favourite photos from their special day from Sydney based photographer Morris Images. I swear you can literally feel the joy and love radiating out of the photos!

Congratulations Bradley & Loren and thank you for trusting me with your special day!

Peace, Love & Flower Power,

But first a little bit about me. I am just your typical Canadian ski bunny who fell in love with a beach bum Aussie boy and followed him to the other side of the world (to Wollongong, Australia). Here we launched our little flourishing (see what I did there… soo punny) business in early 2017. I love all things flowers and weddings, mountains and snowflakes, poems and novels, and anything that will allow me to be creative without sitting still for too long!

I strongly believe that it is imperative that we protect our environment and as such, I strive to constantly be looking for ways to reduce waste and become more sustainable, not only in my business, but day to day life.

Finally, I am a helpless romantic and I always feel completely honoured when two people choose me to be a part of their special day!

So there you go, that’s me in a nutshell.

I can’t wait to share with you all that’s been happening for us at The Olive Branch over the last few months, as well as everything I am looking forward to in 2018!

Peace, Love & Flower Power
